Uploading a driving licence for verification
This article explains how to submit a driving licence for verification by uploading the front and back of the licence, and how to check the status of your submission afterwards.
Who can upload
Uploading a licence for verification requires the licenseVerification:upload permission. Drivers hold this permission by default and can submit their own licence; FleetManager and SystemAdmin roles hold it too and can submit on a driver's behalf. Uploading is part of the licensed Führerscheinkontrolle module, so the module must be enabled for your tenant.
Note: The driver must already have a driver-licence profile. If no profile exists, the upload is rejected with a "profile not found" error. Ask a fleet manager to record the licence classes first.
Before you upload
The verification request references two documents that must already exist in the platform's document store: a front image and a back image of the driving licence. Prepare clear, legible scans or photos of both sides so the reviewing fleet manager can confirm the licence classes and validity.
Submit the licence
- Open the Führerscheinkontrolle module and go to your licence verification.
- Provide the front-side document and the back-side document of the licence.
- Submit the upload.
The platform creates a verification request with the status Pending, records who uploaded it and the upload time, and places it in the fleet manager's verification queue. The action is written to the audit log.
Check your verification status
After uploading, you can view your current verification status. It shows:
- The most recent request and its status — Pending, Accepted, or Rejected (or None if you have never submitted one).
- LastVerifiedAt — when your licence was last confirmed.
- NextVerificationDueDate — when your next check is due.
- The rejection reason, if a previous submission was rejected.
What happens next
A fleet manager reviews your pending request and either accepts it — confirming your licence classes and refreshing your verification dates — or rejects it with a reason. If your submission is rejected, read the reason, correct the issue (for example, upload a clearer image of the back of the licence), and submit again.
Tip: While a request is Pending, a fleet manager cannot record a separate manual check for you — they are expected to review your pending submission instead. If you uploaded by mistake, ask your fleet manager to reject the request so a new one can be processed.
