Removing a driver from a pool

This article explains how to revoke a driver's access to a non-shared pool in MobilityManager by removing their driver-to-pool assignment, and what you can and cannot remove.

Permission required

Removing a driver from a pool requires the vehicle-management permission, held by the FleetManager role and above.

Remove an assignment

1. Open the driver-to-pool assignment area, or the pool's driver list.
2. Find the driver whose access you want to revoke.
3. Remove them from the pool and confirm.

This deletes the assignment record linking that driver to that pool. If the driver was not assigned to the pool in the first place, the action is rejected with "Driver is not assigned to this pool".

What happens next

Access is evaluated live, so removal takes effect immediately. From that point the driver no longer sees the pool's vehicles in self-service and can no longer create new bookings for them. The driver's other pool access is unaffected — removing one assignment only revokes access to that single pool.

Note: Removing a pool assignment does not deactivate the driver and does not change their access to any other pool, including the shared car-sharing pool.

You cannot remove shared-pool access this way

The shared car-sharing pool grants access implicitly to every active driver, so there is no per-driver assignment record to remove. Trying to remove a driver from the shared pool has nothing to delete. To stop a driver reaching shared-pool vehicles, you have two options:

• Deactivate the driver, which excludes them from all pools; or
• Move the specific vehicles out of the shared pool into a non-shared pool and control access there with assignments.

Existing bookings

Removing an assignment governs new bookings. Review any current or upcoming bookings the driver already holds for that pool's vehicles separately, since revoking pool access is about future access rather than cancelling trips already booked.

Tip: Before removing access, use the pool's driver list to confirm the driver is explicitly assigned rather than an automatic shared-pool member. Only explicit assignments can be removed here.
