Track fuel consumption per vehicle and tank
The consumption report tells you how much fuel each tank has drawn over a period, and the refuelling history with odometer readings lets you work out a single vehicle's economy. This article covers both. You need the tankmanagement:view permission to open the report.
The consumption report
The consumption report aggregates refuelling records over a period and groups them by tank. For each group it shows:

| Total litres | Sum of litres across all fills in the group. |
| Refuelling count | Number of fills in the period. |
| Average litres per refuelling | Total litres divided by the count. |
Groups are ordered by total litres, largest first, and the report shows a grand total across all groups.
Choosing the period
- Open the consumption report.
- Set a period start and end. If you leave them blank, the report covers the last three months up to today.
- Read the per-tank totals and the grand total.
Note: The consumption report groups by tank, not by vehicle. External refuellings that are not tied to a tank — such as public-station fills on a fuel card — are aggregated into a single tank-less group.
Working out per-vehicle consumption
To see one vehicle's fuel use, work from the refuelling history rather than the consumption report. Each refuelling can carry a vehicle and an odometer reading, so a vehicle's fills over time give you both the litres burned and the distance covered.
- Open the refuelling history and filter by the vehicle (and, if you like, a date range).
- Note the litres and odometer reading on each fill.
- Take the distance between two consecutive odometer readings and the litres added between them to compute economy — litres per 100 km is litres ÷ distance × 100.
For a clean calculation, encourage drivers to record the odometer on every fill and to fill to full each time, so the litres added map to the distance since the last full tank.
Tip: Export the filtered refuelling history to CSV to run the per-vehicle maths in a spreadsheet. The export includes the vehicle, litres, odometer reading, and date for every record in the range.
Keeping the numbers trustworthy
- Consistent odometer readings are essential — a skipped or mistyped reading breaks the distance between fills.
- Attribute every fill to the correct vehicle so nothing is missed from its history.
- Compare the average litres per refuelling across tanks to spot a tank that is being over-drawn.
