The onboarding wizard: admin account, licence, tenant, and settings
This article covers the second half of the onboarding wizard, after the database is configured: creating the administrator account, activating a licence, creating your first company/tenant, choosing initial settings, and finishing setup.
Step 2: Create the administrator account
This creates the first user, who becomes the SystemAdmin. Provide:
- Email — used both as the sign-in identity and the account email.
- Password and Confirm password — the two must match.
The password must be at least 8 characters. If the values do not match or the password is too short, the wizard tells you before continuing. This account is later granted the SystemAdmin role on your first tenant, so keep the credentials safe.
Step 3: Activate a licence
A licence controls how many tenants, vehicles, and users you may create and which modules are enabled. You have two options:
- Full licence — paste the licence key your organization received and activate it.
- Demo licence — activate a 30-day trial with all feature modules enabled and limits of 1 tenant, 10 vehicles, and 5 users.
After a successful activation, the wizard shows the licence limits (maximum tenants, vehicles, and users) and continues automatically to the next step.
Tip: Choose the demo licence to evaluate the platform quickly. You can activate a full licence later from the Administration area once you have a key.
Step 4: Create your first company/tenant
A tenant is a company or organizational unit with its own isolated data. Provide:
- Tenant name — the display name of the company.
- Tenant identifier (code) — a short code used to identify the tenant, including at sign-in.
The wizard derives the tenant database name from the identifier, creates the tenant with an Active status, provisions its dedicated database with the full schema, and assigns your administrator account to it with the SystemAdmin role. The licence's tenant limit is checked before creation.
Step 5: Configure initial settings
Choose the defaults for this tenant:
| Setting | Options | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Language | DE or EN | The tenant's default language (German or English). |
| Regulatory framework | HU, §57a, or MFK | The periodic vehicle-inspection regime your fleet follows (German, Austrian, or Swiss). |
These are saved to your first tenant. The defaults are DE and HU; change them to match your organization.
Step 6: Complete setup
When you finish, the wizard verifies that all required steps are done (a user, an active licence, and a tenant all exist), seeds a default Beleg (receipt/expense document) configuration baseline, and writes the database configuration permanently to the application settings. You are then redirected to the sign-in page.
Note: Setup completes only when every prior step is finished. If completion is refused with "Not all onboarding steps are complete," go back and confirm the licence and tenant were created successfully.
