What the insurance module manages
The Versicherung (insurance) module is MobilityManager's enterprise insurance workspace, where you keep every policy, claim, premium, and certificate for your fleet in one place. This article explains what the module covers and which role can see or change each part.
What the module is for
Versicherung is a licensed enterprise module. It centralises the insurance side of your fleet so you no longer track policies in spreadsheets: you record who insures each vehicle, what the policy covers, when it renews, what premiums are due, and how claims are progressing. The module works alongside the Schadenmanagement (damage management) module, which is where damage cases and insurance claims originate.
What you can manage here
- Policies - insurance contracts for a single vehicle or the whole fleet, including coverage type (Haftpflicht (third-party liability), Vollkasko (comprehensive), Teilkasko (partial cover), Flottenversicherung (fleet insurance) and others), term, premium, and deductible (Selbstbeteiligung).
- Vehicle assignments - which vehicles a fleet policy covers and for which period.
- Premiums - the individual payment installments due against each policy, with a paid/due/overdue status.
- Claims - insurance claims linked to damage cases, enriched with adjuster, fault, reserve, and subrogation (Regress) details.
- Certificates of insurance - proof-of-cover certificates issued per vehicle and policy, with expiry tracking.
- Risk profiles - calculated risk scores for vehicles and drivers.
- Reports - loss ratio, claims frequency, cost allocation, and risk distribution.
The insurance dashboard
The dashboard is the module's landing view. It surfaces headline figures such as active policies, policies expiring within 30 days, total annual premium, average deductible, valid certificates, and open claims. It also shows a claims-status breakdown, a 12-month premium trend, the current loss ratio, expiring certificates, cost by coverage type, and an alerts summary for expiring policies, expiring certificates, overdue premiums, and high-risk vehicles.
Who can access what
Access is controlled by four insurance permissions. Your administrator grants these to roles such as FleetManager; a Driver typically has none of them.
| Permission | What it allows |
|---|---|
| versicherung:view | View the dashboard, policies, premiums, certificates, and insurer list |
| versicherung:manage | Create, edit, renew, and cancel policies; mark premiums paid; manage certificates and settings |
| versicherung:claims | View and enrich insurance claims |
| versicherung:reports | Run insurance reports, view risk profiles, and export policies |
Note: Because Versicherung is a licensed module, it appears only for tenants whose licence includes enterprise insurance management. If you do not see the module, ask your SystemAdmin whether it is enabled for your organisation.
How the pieces fit together
A policy is the anchor. Vehicles are linked to it, premiums are scheduled against it, and certificates are issued from it. When a vehicle is damaged, a damage case is opened in Schadenmanagement and an insurance claim is raised against the insurer; you then link that claim back to the relevant policy inside Versicherung. Reports draw on all of this data to show how premiums compare with claims cost.
Tip: Start by adding your insurers and policies, then link vehicles and schedule premiums. Claims and reports become far more useful once policies are in place.
