Insurance reports overview

Updated:

This article describes the insurance reports available in the Versicherung module and what each one tells you about your fleet's cover, claims, and risk. Running these reports requires the versicherung:reports permission.

Where to find the reports

The reports live in the Reports area of the Versicherung module. Each report is generated on demand from your current policies, premiums, claims, and risk profiles, so it always reflects live data. You can also export your policies to a CSV file from here.

Loss ratio report

The loss-ratio report compares what you have paid in premiums with what your claims have cost. It shows:

  • Total premiums paid - the sum of all premium installments marked Paid.
  • Total claims cost - the sum of settlement amounts across all claims.
  • Loss ratio - claims cost as a percentage of premiums paid.
  • A breakdown of premiums by coverage type (for example Haftpflicht, Vollkasko, Teilkasko).
Note: A loss ratio above 100% means claims have cost more than the premiums you paid over the period covered - a signal to review pricing or risk with your insurer.

Claims frequency report

The claims-frequency report shows how often claims occur and what they cost on average:

  • Total claims - the number of claims recorded.
  • Average claim cost - the mean settlement amount across claims.
  • A month-by-month series of claim counts and total cost, so you can spot seasonal spikes.

Cost allocation report

The cost-allocation report attributes insurance cost to individual vehicles, ranked from most to least expensive. For each vehicle it lists the licence plate and its premium cost, so you can see which vehicles carry the highest insurance burden and where the total insurance spend is concentrated.

Risk distribution report

The risk-distribution report summarises your vehicle risk profiles:

  • Total vehicles profiled.
  • Average risk score across the fleet.
  • A breakdown by risk category (for example, Low, Medium, High, Critical) with counts and percentages.
Tip: Risk scores are only as current as their last calculation. If the figures look stale, a user with versicherung:manage can trigger a recalculation of the risk profiles.

Exporting policies

Alongside the reports, you can export your full policy list to CSV. The file includes each policy's number, coverage type, vehicle, insurer, term dates, renewal date, auto-renew flag, annual premium, deductible, status, and claim count - handy for sharing with finance or your broker.

Reading reports alongside the dashboard

The insurance dashboard shows condensed versions of several of these figures - loss ratio, claims frequency, cost by coverage type, and risk distribution - as headline widgets. Use the dashboard for a quick daily view and the dedicated reports when you need the full breakdown or a period comparison.

Note: Reports and exports are gated by versicherung:reports. A user with only versicherung:view can see policies and the dashboard but cannot open these reports.
