Maintenance and damage deadline reminders
Beyond statutory inspections, MobilityManager can generate reminders for scheduled maintenance and for damage-case deadlines. These reminders are produced automatically by background jobs and appear in their respective modules. This article explains how each type is created, when, and where to find it.
Maintenance reminders (Wartungsplanung)
The maintenance planning module — Wartungsplanung — tracks maintenance plans for your vehicles, each with a next due date. A background job scans your active maintenance plans and creates reminders as the due date approaches, so upcoming service is never overlooked.
When maintenance reminders are generated
- The job runs about every six hours (after a short startup delay).
- It only runs when the Wartungsplanung module is licensed and enabled for your tenant.
- For each active plan with a next due date, it creates reminders at 30, 14, and 7 days before the due date.
- Each threshold produces a reminder only once — the job checks whether a reminder already exists for that plan and date before creating another.
Where to find and act on maintenance reminders
Maintenance reminders appear in the Wartungsplanung module's reminders list rather than in the notification bell. From there you can filter by status and by vehicle. A reminder moves through the statuses Pending, Sent, Acknowledged, and Dismissed.
- Open the Wartungsplanung reminders list.
- Review reminders, which are ordered by due date and show how many days remain.
- Select Acknowledge to confirm you have seen a reminder, or Dismiss to set it aside.
Note: Viewing maintenance reminders requires the maintenance:view permission. Acknowledging or dismissing a reminder requires the maintenance:manage permission.
Damage-case deadline reminders
The damage management module tracks deadlines on damage cases — for example, a date by which a step must be completed. A separate background job watches for deadlines that have passed.
- The job runs about once per hour.
- It looks for damage-case deadlines whose due date is in the past and that have not yet been flagged.
- When it finds one, it records that a reminder has been raised for that deadline, so overdue deadlines are surfaced for follow-up.
These reminders help your team spot damage-case deadlines that have slipped past their due date so they can be actioned promptly.
How these differ from booking notifications
Maintenance and damage-deadline reminders are module features tied to Wartungsplanung and damage management, and they surface within those modules. The booking and inspection notifications described elsewhere appear in the notification bell. Because the reminders here depend on their modules, they only apply if those modules are licensed and enabled for your tenant.
Tip: Keeping each maintenance plan's next due date accurate is what drives the 30/14/7-day reminders. When you complete a service and roll the plan forward, the next set of reminders is scheduled from the new due date.
