Filtering and clearing your notifications

Updated:

As notifications accumulate, filtering helps you focus on what still needs attention, and marking items as read keeps the list manageable. This article explains the filters available on the Notifications page and how to "clear" your notifications in MobilityManager.

Filtering on the Notifications page

Open the Notifications page by selecting View all notifications in the bell dropdown. At the top of the page you will find three filters:

  • All — shows every notification, read and unread, newest first.
  • Unread — shows only notifications you have not yet read.
  • Read — shows only notifications you have already read.

Select a filter to change the view instantly. The page loads up to the 50 most recent notifications that match your filter.

Tip: Use the Unread filter as a quick to-do list — it hides everything you have already handled so only outstanding items remain.

Clearing notifications

In MobilityManager, "clearing" a notification means marking it as read rather than deleting it. Marking items as read removes their highlight, drops the unread badge on the bell icon, and moves them out of your Unread view.

Clear one at a time

  1. Open the bell dropdown or the Notifications page.
  2. Select a notification to mark it as read (and open its linked record, if it has one).

Clear everything at once

  1. Open the bell dropdown or the Notifications page.
  2. Select Mark all as read.
  3. Every unread notification is marked as read and the badge resets to zero.

Notifications are kept, not deleted

Marking a notification as read does not remove it from your history. Read notifications remain available so you can look them up later using the Read or All filter. There is no action to permanently delete an individual notification; the read state and filters are how you keep your list focused.

Note: Filters and the read state apply only to your own account. Changing your view or marking your notifications as read never affects what other users see.

Staying current

The unread badge on the bell icon refreshes automatically about every 30 seconds, so new notifications appear without reloading the page. If you have just cleared your list and the badge still shows a count, wait for the next refresh or reopen the bell to see the updated total.

Availability

Filtering and clearing notifications are available to every signed-in user, regardless of role. You always work with your own notifications only.
