Driver risk overview and how risk is scored

Published:
Updated:

This article explains the driver risk overview for Strafmandate (penalty notices) — what each column means, how the risk score is calculated, and how drivers are classified into low, medium, and high risk. The overview requires the strafmandate:view permission, typically held by FleetManager and SystemAdmin.

What the overview shows

The driver risk overview lists every active driver in your tenant with a computed risk position, plus a summary of how many drivers fall into each risk band. Each row contains:

ColumnMeaning
Driver nameThe driver's first and last name.
Mandate countNumber of distinct notices the driver is actively assigned to.
Flensburg pointsThe driver's total Punkte from the Fahreignungsregister (driving-aptitude register).
Risk scoreThe numeric score (see the formula below).
Risk levellow, medium, or high.
RecommendationA suggested next action for that risk level.
Missing dataTrue when no stored risk snapshot exists yet and the score is derived on the fly.

Above the list, three counters show the number of high-, medium-, and low-risk drivers.

How the risk score is calculated

The score combines how many notices a driver is tied to with their Flensburg points:

Note: Risk score = (active mandate count × 10) + (Flensburg points × 8). Points are weighted more heavily than notices, so a driver's Punkte total moves the score fastest.

For each driver, the overview prefers the most recent stored risk snapshot if one exists. If a driver has no snapshot yet, the same formula is calculated live from their current mandate count and points, and the row is flagged with missing data so you know the value is derived rather than recorded.

Risk levels and recommendations

The score maps to a level and a recommended action:

LevelScoreRecommendation
High70 or aboveSchedule mandatory safety training and manager coaching.
Medium40 to 69Recommend proactive refresher training within 30 days.
LowBelow 40No immediate intervention required; continue regular monitoring.
Tip: A stored snapshot is written whenever a driver's Flensburg points are updated. If a driver shows "missing data", record or confirm their points to generate a snapshot and lock in a scored value rather than a live estimate.

Where else risk appears

The dashboard's driver-risk-summary widget shows the top drivers by their latest stored snapshot score, with mandate count and Flensburg points for context. That widget only includes drivers who already have a snapshot, whereas this overview lists all active drivers.
