Default language settings (DE and EN)

The default language setting controls the language your tenant uses across MobilityManager. Two languages are offered: German (DE) and English (EN). This article explains where to set it and how it relates to other language-driven features.

Required permission

The language is a tenant setting on the tenant settings page (/admin/tenant-settings). Saving it requires settings:manage.

The options

• DE — Deutsch (the default).
• EN — English.

The default is German, reflecting the product's core German-speaking market. Choose the language your administrators and fleet managers work in.

Set the default language

1. Open /admin/tenant-settings.
2. In general settings, choose the language from the dropdown.
3. Save. The setting applies to the tenant.

Note: The tenant language is stored as a short code (DE or EN). It sets the tenant-wide default; individual users may still experience some UI text in their own browser language where the interface supports per-user language.

How language relates to other features

• Email templates are language-specific. Maintain a DE and an EN copy of each message; the right one is chosen by language at send time.
• Localization labels for Beleg workflow states and types are stored per language and fall back to the default (English) when a translation is missing.
• Currency formatting is a separate setting (an ISO 4217 currency code) and is not changed by the language choice.

Tip: When you switch the tenant language, review your email templates and localization labels for that language. A missing EN template or label falls back to the default and may read out of place.

Verify the setting

1. Reopen the tenant settings and confirm the selected language.
2. Send or preview a notification to confirm the correct language template is used.

Warning: The language dropdown offers only DE and EN. Do not expect other languages to be selectable; unsupported values are not part of the tenant settings options.
