Setting the regulatory framework (HU, §57a, MFK)
The regulatory framework setting tells MobilityManager which country's periodic vehicle inspection regime your tenant follows. It drives inspection due reminders and the labels used for inspection dates. This article explains the options and how to set them.
Required permission
The regulatory framework is a tenant setting on the tenant settings page (/admin/tenant-settings). Saving it requires settings:manage.
The available frameworks
These German-language domain terms name each country's mandatory technical inspection:

The default is HU. Choose the framework that matches where your fleet is registered so the terminology and reminders make sense to your team.
Set the framework
- Open
/admin/tenant-settings. - In general settings, choose the regulatory framework from the dropdown.
- Save. The change applies to the tenant.
Inspection reminders
The framework works together with the inspection reminder days before setting, which controls how many days ahead of an inspection due date reminders begin (default 30, adjustable between 1 and 365). Together they drive the inspection due notifications and the dashboard reminder widget.
Note: The regulatory framework selects terminology and reminder behavior for the HU / §57a / MFK inspection cycle. It does not change how due dates themselves are stored on vehicles — those come from each vehicle's next inspection date.
Tip: If your fleet spans more than one country, run a separate tenant per country so each uses its correct framework. A single tenant carries one regulatory framework value.
Verify the setting
- Reopen the tenant settings and confirm the selected framework.
- Check a vehicle with an upcoming inspection to confirm reminders reflect the expected cycle.
Warning: Changing the framework changes the inspection terminology across the tenant for every user. Coordinate the change so fleet managers are not surprised by relabeled inspection fields.
