What happens to your data when a company is deactivated
This article explains exactly what happens to a company's (tenant's) data when it is deactivated in MobilityManager, so you can deactivate with confidence that nothing is lost.
The short answer: nothing is deleted
Deactivating a company only changes its status to Inactive. It blocks access to the company but leaves every record in place. The company's database and all of its contents — vehicles, the Fahrzeugakte (vehicle file), bookings, Belege (receipts/expense documents), users' role assignments, and configuration — remain exactly as they were.
Note: Deactivation is a reversible access control, not a data operation. It is the safe way to take a company offline without risking its records.
What changes while a company is inactive
Deactivation affects who can reach the company, not what it contains:
- Sign-in is blocked. Anyone trying to log in to the company is told it has been deactivated and to contact their administrator.
- It disappears from selection. The company is removed from the list offered at the login screen and from every user's company switcher, because those lists only include active companies.
- Switching in is refused. A user already signed in to another company cannot switch into the deactivated one.
- Data cannot be opened. Because the company is not active, the platform will not open its database, so its records are neither shown nor changed.
What is preserved

Restoring access
Reactivating the company sets its status back to Active and restores access immediately. Users can sign in again, the company reappears in switchers and at login, and all data is available just as it was before deactivation. Activating and deactivating both require the tenants:deactivate permission and are restricted to a SystemAdmin.
Warning: Deactivation is not deletion. If your goal is to permanently remove a company and its data, deactivation will not do that — the database and records remain. Handle permanent removal through your organization's data-retention and database procedures.
