Recording vehicle equipment and options
Record a vehicle's equipment, accessories, and optional extras — from roof racks to safety kit — on the Ausstattung (equipment) tab of the Fahrzeugakte (vehicle file).
What the equipment tab captures
The equipment tab holds a simple, itemised list of everything fitted to or supplied with the vehicle that you want to keep track of. Each item is one row, and the list is sorted alphabetically by item name so it stays easy to scan. Use it for optional extras, accessories, and any equipment you need to account for or check periodically.
Reading the equipment list requires the vehicles:view permission. Adding, editing, and deleting items requires vehicles:manage (FleetManager, SystemAdmin, or a custom role that grants it).
Fields on an equipment item

| Name | What the item is, e.g. "Tow bar", "First-aid kit", "Winter mats". Required. |
| Quantity | How many of the item are present. |
| Unit price | Price per unit, if you track it. |
| Check date | The date the item was last checked or inspected — useful for items with an expiry or a periodic inspection. |
| Notes | Free text for details such as model, serial number, or condition. |
Adding an equipment item
- Open the vehicle and go to the Ausstattung tab of the Fahrzeugakte.
- Add a new item and enter its name.
- Set the quantity and unit price if you track them.
- For safety or inspectable items, set the check date to when it was last verified.
- Add any notes and save.
Editing and removing items
Edit an item to update its quantity, price, check date, or notes — for example after re-checking a first-aid kit or fire extinguisher. Delete an item when it is removed from the vehicle for good. Because the list is a plain inventory, changes take effect immediately for anyone viewing the vehicle.
Tip: Use the check date for equipment that expires or needs periodic inspection, such as first-aid kits, fire extinguishers, and warning triangles. Reviewing items by their check date helps you catch anything overdue before it becomes a compliance problem.
Note: The equipment list is separate from the read-only technical specification on the Technik tab. Factory specification (seats, doors, and so on) comes from the vehicle-data catalog, whereas the Ausstattung tab is for the actual accessories and extras your fleet manages.
