KFZ-Info Calculation: Vehicle Metrics and Drive-Type Classification
What is the KFZ-Info calculation?
A background service that, every hour, calculates the most important key figures per vehicle for all clients:
- Consumption per 100 km (litres, or kWh for electric vehicles)
- Cost per kilometre (gross or net, depending on the client setting)
- Mileage per day / per year
- Lease projection: projected final odometer reading, utilisation rate today and at contract end, warning flag for over-mileage
These values feed the Technik (Technical) tab of the Fahrzeugakte (vehicle record), the lease overrun warnings, the lease mileage report by email (article 06) and the Leasing-Rückgabe-Cockpit (lease-return cockpit) (article 13).
Up to version 10.3, these values were only calculated by the classic Windows client. Since 10.4, the web server handles this – an installed Windows client is no longer necessary.
Settings
Under Hintergrundaufgaben → „KFZ-Info Berechnung" (Background Tasks → KFZ-Info Calculation):

Note: A disabled service only checks its settings once a day – after re-enabling it can therefore take up to 24 hours for the calculation to start (or the application is restarted).
Automatic drive-type classification
Vehicles without a maintained drive type are classified automatically:
- Electric plate on the vehicle → Vollelektrisch (Fully electric)
- otherwise based on the fuels used: diesel, petrol/premium (incl. plug-in variants), hydrogen, gas (CNG), no drive
Manually set drive types are never overwritten. Sold vehicles are not touched. The feature can be switched off via the „Antriebsart automatisch klassifizieren" (Classify drive type automatically) checkbox.
Checking the results
- Each run produces a log entry per client („KfzInfo Mandant X: n von m Fahrzeugen aktualisiert", i.e. KfzInfo client X: n of m vehicles updated) in the „Logs" tab of Hintergrundaufgaben (Background Tasks).
- In the Leasing-Rückgabe-Cockpit (lease-return cockpit), each row shows the timestamp of its last calculation; an immediate recalculation per vehicle is also possible there.
Frequently asked questions
The Technik (Technical) tab shows no values or outdated ones. Check whether the service is active (tab „KFZ-Info Berechnung") and whether the vehicle has current odometer readings – without fuel/charging receipts or mileage responses there is no basis for consumption and projection.
Gross or net? The cost basis (gross/net) follows the amount-type setting of the client.
