Changing Your Own Password and Signing In with Single Sign-On
Changing your own password
You can reach the page in two ways:
- Navigation menu: Profil → Passwort ändern (Profile → Change Password) (
/applications/users/profile/changepassword) - User menu at the top right (icon with your initials) → Passwort ändern (Change Password)
Enter your current password and the new password twice, then click Speichern (Save). The new password must meet the following rules:
- Minimum length (default: 8 characters, may be set higher per installation)
- at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number and one special character
- no spaces
If the current password is wrong or the two new entries differ, you receive a corresponding notice. After a successful change you are redirected to the dashboard.
Forced password change
If an administrator has set "Passwort bei nächster Anmeldung ändern" (Change password at next login) on your user account (Article 18), the following applies:
- Immediately after login, FMWeb automatically redirects you to the "Passwort ändern" (Change Password) page.
- In the menu, Profil → Passwort ändern (Profile → Change Password) carries an orange "!" indicator.
- On the page, the message "Sie müssen Ihr Passwort ändern, bevor Sie fortfahren können." (You must change your password before you can continue.) appears – the Cancel button is hidden, and other pages become reachable again only after the change.
Signing in with single sign-on (SSO)
If an OpenID Connect provider is configured for your installation (e.g. Microsoft Entra ID – the setup is done server-side by your IT team), the Anwender-Login (User Login) shows the "Login mit Single Sign-On" (Log in with single sign-on) button above the user selection. Below it, the classic sign-in ("oder" / or) with user, tenant and password remains available.
For SSO login, FMWeb matches you via the e-mail address of your user account. Possible error messages:
| Message | Cause / Solution |
|---|---|
| "Single Sign-On Anmeldung fehlgeschlagen …" (Single sign-on login failed …) | Sign-in with the provider failed – try again or sign in the classic way |
| "Keine E-Mail-Adresse vom Single Sign-On Provider erhalten." (No e-mail address received from the single sign-on provider.) | The provider supplies no e-mail attribute – have IT check |
| "Kein Benutzer mit dieser E-Mail-Adresse gefunden. …" (No user found with this e-mail address. …) | No e-mail, or a different one, is stored on the FMWeb user account |
| "Mehrere Benutzer mit derselben E-Mail-Adresse gefunden. …" (Multiple users found with the same e-mail address. …) | The e-mail address must be unique – an administrator cleans up the user accounts |
Frequently asked questions
I forgot my password. An administrator sets a new one for you in the user editor via "Passwort festlegen" (Set password) – ideally combined with "Passwort bei nächster Anmeldung ändern" (Change password at next login).
Does this also apply to drivers? No. Drivers sign in to the driver portal; their credentials are managed in the driver file (Article 19).
