Managing Public Holidays
Overview
In the Feiertage (Public Holidays) catalog (group Verwalten / Manage under /applications/generalMasterData/overview) you maintain the public holidays that apply to your client. The entries feed into the working-days calculation of the reports: For day-precise statistics, public holidays are - depending on the configured mode (5-, 6- or 7-day week) - excluded from the working days.
Creating a public holiday
- Select Feiertage (Public Holidays) on the left and click "Feiertag hinzufügen" (Add public holiday).
- Fill in the side dialog:

- Speichern (Save). The combination of name and date must be unique - so the same public holiday can be created for several years (with a different date each time).
Maintaining public holidays year by year
Public holidays are stored with a specific date, not as a recurring rule. Therefore, create the new year's public holidays at the start of the year. Movable holidays (Easter, Whitsun) have to be re-dated annually anyway.
The table shows Name, Datum (Date), Vorfesttage (Pre-holiday) and Vorfesttage Std. (Pre-holiday hours); via the toolbar you can search the list and export it as CSV/PDF - handy for reconciliation with the HR department.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly are the public holidays used for? Statistics that normalize to working days (e.g. utilization and cost metrics) exclude the days maintained here. If public holidays are missing, metrics in holiday weeks appear too low.
Regional public holidays – what do I enter? Maintain the public holidays that apply to the majority of your fleet. The list applies per client; differing federal-state rules within one client cannot be represented separately.
What exactly does "Vorfesttage Std." (Pre-holiday hours) mean? With it you document shortened working days before a holiday (e.g. 4 hours on 24 Dec). Additionally set the "Vorfesttage" (Pre-holiday) flag.
