Managing Tyres on the Vehicle: Tyre Sets and Storage
Overview
On the Reifen (Tyres) tab of the vehicle record (direct link: /applications/vehicles/addoredit/{id}?section=reifen), you document the vehicle's tyre sets including storage location and set the Reifensaison (Tyre season). The season setting is at the same time the control variable for the automatic tyre-change reminders (Article 05).
Card "Saison & erlaubte Größen" (Season & permitted sizes)
- Reifensaison (Tyre season): "Sommer" (Summer), "Winter", or "Ganzjahr" (All-season) — here you record which set is currently mounted. Vehicles with Ganzjahresreifen (all-season tyres) are automatically excluded from the change reminders.
- Erlaubte Größen (Fahrzeugschein) (Permitted sizes (registration document)): one field per axle — Vorderachse (Front axle), Mittelachse (Middle axle), Hinterachse (Rear axle)
- Reifendruck (Bar) (Tyre pressure (bar)): Reifendruck vorne (Bar) (Front tyre pressure (bar)) and Reifendruck hinten (Bar) (Rear tyre pressure (bar))
- Reifenkit bis: (Tyre kit until:) expiry date of the breakdown/tyre kit
- Wechsel-Alarm (km) (Change alarm (km)): mileage reminder value for the next change (documentary)
Cards "Sommerreifen", "Winterreifen", "Ersatzreifen" (Summer tyres, Winter tyres, Spare tyres)
For each tyre set you record the same four details:

Saving — like all master data of the record — is done via the central Speichern (Save) button.
Interplay with the tyre-change reminders
The email task determines the upcoming changes from the vehicle's Reifensaison (summer mounted → reminder for the winter change and vice versa) around the seasonal windows. The recipient is the driver assigned in the data sheet with a valid email address (Article 34). Therefore, update the season after every change — otherwise FMWeb reminds in the wrong direction.
Tread measurement, tyre history, and minimum tread
Detailed records — Profilmessungen (Tread measurements) (tread depth per wheel), Reifenhistorie (Tyre history) (fitting/removal), and Luftdruck-/Mindestprofil-Vorgaben (air pressure/minimum tread specifications) — have been maintained centrally under Reifen-Stammdaten (Tyre master data) (/applications/tyreMasterData/overview) since version 10.4, rather than in the individual vehicle record. There you also find tyre types and tyre sets as catalogs.
Frequently asked questions
Why doesn't the driver receive a tyre-change reminder? Check in this order: is the tyre season set on the vehicle (not "Ganzjahr")? Is a driver assigned and provided with an email address? Is the driver not blocked? Details and time windows: Article 05; diagnosis: Article 07.
I can't edit the fields. To edit, you need tyres.edit and vehicles.edit; in addition, the record must not be locked by another person (Article 44) and the vehicle must not be sold/decommissioned/inactive.
