Driver Messages: The Inbox for Reports from the Driver Portal
Overview
Everything drivers report via the vehicle feedback in the driver portal (article 19) first lands in the "Fahrermeldungen" (Driver messages) inbox. None of it changes the data at once: only when the backoffice processes or releases a message are mileages applied and receipts, damage cases or home-charging sessions created. This keeps data quality in your hands.
The "Fahrermeldungen" menu item shows a counter badge with the total number of all unprocessed messages. The badge and page refresh automatically about once a minute.
The four message types
| Tab | Content | Processing |
|---|---|---|
| KM Stand Meldungen (Mileage reports) | reported mileage incl. comparison with the currently stored reading | article 52 |
| Reifenwechsel Meldungen (Tyre change reports) | confirmation of the seasonal change, new tyre type | article 54 |
| Schadenmeldungen (Damage reports) | damage type, location, severity, photos, accident flag | article 53 |
| Tankbeleg Meldungen (Fuel receipt reports) | refuelling/charging events incl. receipt photo; for electricity with kWh and charging location | article 52 |
Each tab shows its own count of open messages as a badge. The messages appear as cards – each with Fahrer (Driver), Fahrzeug (Kennzeichen) (Vehicle / plate), the reported data, the report time and an optional Bemerkung (Remark) from the driver.
Processing or discarding
For every message there are two actions:
- Verarbeiten / Freigeben (Process / Release) – opens a dialog in which you check and, if needed, correct the reported values before FMWeb applies them. What exactly is created on release differs by message type (see articles 52–54).
- Verwerfen (Discard) – rejects the message; optionally you record a Ablehnungsgrund (reason for rejection). No data whatsoever is applied (in particular no mileage).
In both cases the message is then considered done and disappears from the inbox; FMWeb logs who completed the message and when.
Frequently asked questions
The "Fahrermeldungen" menu item is missing. The user lacks the processing.inbox permission – it is assigned via roles (article 18).
No messages are arriving. Check whether the drivers use the driver portal (access, password, driver block – article 47) and whether the feedback function is reachable in the portal.
Can a discarded message be restored? No. However, the driver can resend the report at any time – ask them for a corrected message if needed.
