Tyre Data in the Vehicle Record: Sets, Change Data, Tyre Pressure and History

Module: Stammdaten (Master Data) → Fahrzeuge (Vehicles) → "Reifen" (Tyres) area

Audience: Fleet managers, workshop/dispatch

Required permission: tyres.view (area visible), tyres.edit (changes); in addition, the vehicle record's editing locks apply (Article 20)

Overview

In the vehicle record, the "Reifen" (Tyres) area bundles all of the vehicle's tyre data. In FMWeb 10.4.0, the focus is on the "Reifensätze & Lagerung" (Tyre Sets & Storage) sub-area; tread measurements are maintained centrally via the Reifen-Stammdaten (Tyre Master Data) (Article 108). Saving is done via the vehicle record's central Speichern (Save).

Reifensätze & Lagerung (Tyre Sets & Storage)

Season & permitted sizes:

  • Reifensaison (Tyre season): a choice of Sommer / Winter / Ganzjahr (summer / winter / all-season) - the currently mounted state. This value is the basis of the automatic tyre-change reminders (Article 05).
  • Erlaubte Größen (Fahrzeugschein) (Permitted sizes, per vehicle registration): the permissible tyre sizes per front axle / centre axle / rear axle.
  • Reifendruck (Bar) (Tyre pressure in bar): target values front and rear.
  • Reifenkit bis (Tyre kit until): expiry date of the puncture kit.
  • Wechsel-Alarm (km) (Change alert, km): mileage threshold for a mileage-based change notice.

Sommerreifen / Winterreifen / Ersatzreifen (Summer tyres / Winter tyres / Spare tyres) - each set has its own card with:

FieldContent
Bezeichnung (Name)Tyre/rim designation of the set
Kosten (Costs)Purchase costs
DOT-Nr. (DOT no.)Manufacturing identifier of the tyres
Lagerort (Storage location)Where the unmounted set is stored (e.g. "Tyre dealer Müller, compartment 12")

The Lagerort (storage location) in particular saves phone calls during the changeover season - drivers and workshop can see immediately where the wheels are.

Change data, tyre pressure and minimum profile

Beyond this, detailed tyre data can be kept for each vehicle (depending on the level of your installation, partly maintained in the desktop Flottenmanager / Fleet Manager desktop application):

  • Change data per wheel position: "Gewechselt am" (changed on) and mileage for front left/right and rear left/right, plus the change alert (km), the number of driven axles and a free-text note.
  • Tyre pressure & minimum profile: pressure front/rear (bar) and the minimum tread depth in mm, separated by summer, winter and all-season - the comparison value for the tread measurements from the Tyre Master Data.

Tyre history

The tyre history logs fittings and removals per wheel: position, type/description, action (Einbau / fit / Ausbau / remove), fitting and removal date, mileage and tread depth. This makes it possible to trace later which tyre was mounted when and with what remaining tread depth - helpful for warranty cases and leasing returns. With tyres.view you can view the history; new entries and changes require tyres.edit.

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't the driver receive a tyre-change reminder? Check the tyre season on the vehicle (with "Ganzjahr" / all-season, the seasonal change does not apply), the driver assignment in the data sheet, and the mail settings (Article 05).

The fields are read-only. Either tyres.edit is missing, or the record is locked by another user or restricted for you (Article 18).
